Looking to get your young boys and girls into a new hobby that facilitates learning and team-building? Try out youth hockey!  

Want to learn to play hockey? Spirit Ice Arena offers special Learn to Skate classes and a Learn to Play Hockey classes for all ages. 

Want to play hockey? Spirit Ice Arena is partnered with the Brazos Valley Hockey Club (BVHC) who currently hosts teams for Mighty Mites (6 & under), Mites (8 & under), Squirts (10 & under), Pee Wee (12 & under), and Bantam (14 & under) age groups. Brazos Valley Hockey also runs clinics and summer skills development programs.  So while other parents are sitting on the 110 degree soccer fields, you can watch your children learning and playing hockey in a comfortable 55 degree stands!  Email inquiries on these BVHC programs to hockeydirector@brazosvalleyhockey.org

Spirit Ice Arena is also home to the Texas Outlaws Hockey Organization that hosts tournament teams at the 12U and 14U levels.  Check out their website and video below for their spring training and other programs.

Youth Hockey is a wonderful way to help your child build strong character, learn how to work on a team, and promote healthy habits. It is also a great avenue in order to facilitate bonding between parents and children– you will have so much to talk about at the dinner table after games! Players in every division are required to wear full equipment (Skates, Pants, Cup, Shin Pads, Shoulder Pads, Elbow Pads, Gloves, Helmet w/ cage, Neck Guard, Jersey, and Stick) to participate in the practices and games.

Refusal to conform and enforce these guidelines may subject a player, team, or coach to suspension. All age divisions will play no-check.
