“Backing the Blue” Hockey Tournament Fundraiser
The “Backing the Blue” Hockey Tournament Fundraiser is a fun tournament to raise money for the 100 Club. Bring you friends & family to enjoy these games this weekend for free!
Game Times:
Friday 2/4 Two Games – 7:15pm and 8:45pm
Saturday 2/5 Four Games – 4:00pm, 5:30, 6:45 and 7:55pm
Sunday 2/6 Two Games – 8:45am and 10:15am
The 100 Club is a 32,000-member non-profit organization that began in 1953, which provides financial support to the dependents of law enforcement officers and firefighters who are killed or seriously injured in the line of duty in 32 counties surrounding Houston. Recently with the Covid-19 Pandemic, any firefighter or Police Officer who became sick with Covid-19 and passed away, the 100 Club ruled it an on-duty death and have been helping the families financially. The 100 Club also gives awards out to Officers/ firefighters who have gone above and beyond. They do a yearly heroes award banquet where they recognize an Officer/ Firefighter and provide awards and food/ drinks for them and their families.
Financial Support: The 100 Club provides financial support to the dependents of heroes killed in the line of duty by paying off their home loan, vehicle loans, credit card debt, and assisting with providing a college education for their children.
Scholarships: The 100 Club fund scholarships that allow officers to further their education in criminal justice
Support for service animals: the 100 Club provides funding to replace all service animals who are killed or seriously injured in the line of duty for law enforcement and fire departments within the covered area.
Equipment: The 100 Club provides life-protecting equipment such as bulletproof vests, radio equipment, and armored personnel carriers.
Officer Dowling, a recipient of such award, was impressed by how they treated her and my family and organized this event to help give back. She is asking for donations / sponsors to help raise money for this organization. Donations are tax deductible.
